We can't wait for our Trunk Show coming up on December 10th. Josh and Layla are making the trip from NY to bring you a large selection of some of our favorite lingerie and loungewear pieces just in time for holiday shopping. There are so many things I love about BTS. Like the simplicity in classic silhouettes and color themes that show up in every collection, Josh and Layla's commitment to environmental consciousness, and the comfortable, super soft fabrics Layla chooses for all of her designs. Layla was kind enough to sit down and answer these questions for me. Get to know her and the Between the Sheets brand below and be sure to stop by to meet one of the sweetest designers and view her collection here in the store on December 10th.

Currently, what are you inspired by most as a designer?

Layla: This changes by the day, I'm on pinterest and obsessed - I have all of my inspiration boards on there. I am still really into velvet and cutouts at the moment, spice colors, and always on the hunt for a new lace that I love and that hasn't been used before.

How would you describe your personal style? How much does your personal taste in clothing effect your design process?

Layla: Oddly enough I don't think it does, I tend to wear a uniform of sorts, I think this is the case with a lot of designers- life with a business gets so crazy and unless its a special occasion I don't find the time to dress up these days. Each season and collection represents facets of my personality that I'm exploring and the design reveals something about myself and my own tastes, that I then get to see reflected back to me when the designs resonate with buyers & customers. I think what I've found is that when a piece resonates I realize I'm hitting a nerve with what our customers and fans were looking for.

Do you have a particular woman in mind when you design? Who is your ideal Between the Sheets girl?

Layla: I don't have a particular woman so much as moments in a woman's life that stand out. Those transcend age and body type to describe a lifestyle. I want layers to keep you warm when its chilly, different materials and styles for different occasions or moods, because I think lingerie is one of the few fashion categories that captures fantasy.

That all being said I do add some styles that will appeal to a more mature customer, but at the same time some styles I think will appeal to a more youthful mindset. It's the difference between being a designer and a merchandiser, and as an entrepreneur I have to switch those hats often.

Tell us a little bit about your education and history at FIT - we hear you were quite the entrepreneur at a young age...

Layla: I guess you could say I stumbled upon entrepreneurship while in college while starting a lingerie fashion show event. Our sophomore year we used to have a fashion show, but my class was the first to not get this, and I decided to try and make it happen outside the classroom. For three years I worked with my fellow classmates to organize and run these events, and each year more and more of my time was put into it. I wouldn't say it was a real business in that the goal was never to make money just to keep it going, but it gave me a realistic taste of what it would meant to run the show. I also realized that the designers and models would change from year to year but that the one constant was me, and it taught me a lot about my strengths and my weaknesses.

Describe your design process. Where is the initial design concept for a garment usually sparked from?

Layla: I always start with fabric, the fabric has a story and I find a way to tell it. I don't fight with the material and try to put it into a silhouette which doesn't suit it, so I used the fluidity of silk, the drape of jersey, and the stretch of lace or mesh as part of the design.

You have created two lifestyle brands: Between the Sheets Collection and Layla L'obatti for Between the Sheets. In what ways are these lines different? Do you ever find that you prefer to design for one over the other?

Layla: Between the Sheets Collection focuses on comfort, what I like to think of as textured minimalism, and everyday luxury. My luxe range - Layla L'obatti for BTS focuses on the most glamourous moments (for some those may be everyday) special occasions, the most luxurious materials like silk and lace, and there is a vintage inspired heirloom quality to it. I take a different joy working on both, but I guess without the luxe range I might feel less fulfilled so in that way it is essential the success of both by keeping me balanced and happy.

A dream job for so many girls, How is it running a lingerie business with your other half?

Layla: Depends on the week you ask me! In general I find running it with Josh has been a true test of our love and relationship... we both have a truly deep knowledge of each others strengths and weaknesses and are dedicated to each others success. Of course, he also adds a valuable male perspective to what I do ;)

Between the Sheets is proudly made here in the USA in the New York garment district. Environmental sustainability is also a huge part of your brand. Tell us what environmental and social consciousness means to you.

Layla: I could write a whole book about this... I want better for the next generation - I don't want to see us outsourcing our pollution to other countries because in the end it will affect us all. I also don't want the skills and creative abilities of our own country to be lost - I was at an event at FIT not too long ago where one of the panelists (also a designer) blythely talked about how a whole trade had already left the US and how it would never come back and how that was just the way it is, and I don't want to sit on the sidelines and watch that happen to fashion. If we don't make things here we will eventually cease to innovate here as well. As a designer I learned the most from my internships where product was MADE here, I got to see the whole process and the big picture and that is a huge part of where I am today. Each year students graduate and add their perspective to the design world they are pushing the old guard forward, keeping them on their toes. One day I want to be in that old guard and I want those students to have fresh young and educated eyes on the next step pushing me to keep innovating too, and without them being able to witness the actual manufacturing and see the big picture how can that happen?

We are completely in love with Stella McCartney's fall 2011 lingerie collection. Some of my favorite elements are the detailed gold hardware, intricate lace, and classic but innovative silhouettes.

Pictured above is the satin and lace Zoe Swimming soft bra and panty set. The lightweight stretch lace lays so perfectly on the body and gives you a "barely there" feeling. The satin band on both the bra and panty is gathered and top-stitched with such perfect craftsmanship and detail. Scalloped edges on the panty (ahh!) and gold straps and hardware on the soft bra. It's a dream, I mean it!

Next is the Isabelle Daydreaming lace bodysuit. Daydreaming - yes! Paneling and peek-a-boo of skin in all the right places. And the signature gold hardware ... My most favorite detail. Add this to your to-daydream-of list.

And don't forget the amazing Cherie Sneezing set.

HYPER COLOR

Brights have been on the fashion radar for a while now, and are apparently still holding on strong for fall 2011. Bright nails, lip color, our hairs are even changing color these days. Now I want to fast forward a bit to next spring. Spring 2012 trend reports are saying, "We can't remember a season in which fashion has wrapped it's arms around color like it has for Spring." That sounds serious.

As you know I always like to find the connection between ready-to-wear trends and undies trends. I have to say that after seeing spring collections a few weeks ago - these citrus, watermelon, bubble gum hues are popping up not only in our outerwear but hyper color lingerie is making a big splash come spring 2012.

This post is coming straight from a girl who's closet is full of neutrals - black, whites, browns, blacks, blacks, whites ...? You can see how embracing the idea of wearing bubble gum pink blouses (yikes) could be difficult. The solution? Colorful lingerie, of course. Pinks, purples, florals, yellows, prints! I love them all under my sheer black button-downs and comfy white t's.

If you'd like to get a head start on the upcoming trends, we have some amazing picks currently in the store - like this bright red and gold Stella McCartney set. Today I wanted to share one of my favorite trends: bridal lace and ballerina themed looks on the runway and underneath our everyday outfits. These sweet spirited looks above are full of the layering we all love and centered around some key lingerie pieces.

In photo number two, this ultra feminine and whimsical trend dominated the runways for spring 2011 during Milan Fashion Week. With designers like Alberta Ferretti, Antonio Marras, Dolce & Gabbana, Ermanno Scervino, Luisa Beccaria and Maurizio Pecoraro all incorporating "vintage bridal lace" into their collections.

If you are an avid reader of this blog, you are probably aware of my love for Vanessa Bruno. In the runway looks above, she has styled her collections with layered and wrapped outfits that a dancer might wear to rehearsal. So perfect, easy and comfortable for fall.

During market week in NY, we had the privilege of getting a sneak peak of New York-based designer Sandee Shin's avant-garde jewelery line, Armor Jewelery. Layla and Josh of Between the Sheets were showing a few of Sandee's pieces along with their new line. Upon arrival, I fell immediately in love. Armor is full of sculptural pieces that drape over the body in the most beautiful places. And another bonus, many of the pieces we saw can be worn in a number of different ways.

"Armor Jewelry is a hybrid of soft, subtle draping and a mix of sexy chain materials." ... yes, please.

friday loves {one day early}

There is no better reason that I am doing my friday loves post today other than I woke up this morning and thought it was ... well, Friday. Now that I am caffeinated and feeling all inspired, I don't want to hold off until tomorrow. Right?!

Today's friday loves comes from one of my favorite ready-to-wear designers Vanessa Bruno. Miracle was produced for the Summer 2011 collection by director Stephanie Di Giusto. Stephanie was "given free rein" to interpret the collection where "colour and prints open up a new scope for the brand." I love every part of the video; from the washed out color themes, the styling, the manipulation of speed throughout, and the contrast between the two girls representing separate stories. I hope you enjoy!

i have been a huge fan of this man's work for a while now. it is impossible to just pick a few of his images for a post, so i highly recommend you checking out his site yourself.

i thought his work was perfect for a midsummer's friday loves post. i first discovered neil krug's work the summer of 2009. i had graduated from college, spent the winter living and interning in nyc, and found myself back in richmond for the summer with my best friend. the two of us had nothing much else to do except go on mini road trips with our cameras in hand, scout local thrift shops for meaningful goodies, flirt with cute boys, wear our bikinis all day long with no ac, map out epic road trips across the united states to places we'd never seen, and of course - spend countless late nights drinking on the front porch by the gardenias, discussing the meanings of our lives and for the first time feeling terrified of our futures.

that fall, i found myself back in nyc and she packed her bags for a trip across the country to a place she would soon decide to start a new life. fast forward - we both fell in love, she's still there and i'm here - and haven't seen each other since that summer in richmond. we never knew it at the time but those few months were so perfect and will always hold such a special place in my heart.

i got a bit off subject, but for those reasons - neil krug's work is so special to me because it capture's the mood of that summer so perfectly.

i dedicate this post to best girl friends everywhere and hot summers of endless inspiration and possibilities :)

How was everyone's holiday weekend? Despite the rain, we cooked in the back yard, wore our red white and blue (sort of) and enjoyed some pretty impressive fireworks from the front porch. The night ended with antionette ooing and ah-ing over issue eleven of Lula on the couch - chatting about Charlotte Gainsbourg and her Hollywood royalty - ness. So, all in all I'd say it was a lovely day/evening.

This week in the store we will be working on some exciting things - like giving our website a makeover so you all can shop our newest shipments day or night, in or out of your undies. This set by Elle Macpherson is what I want to talk about today. First off, the material is brushed bamboo cotton, which is insanely soft to the touch! The bit of stretch lace that trims this set lays soft on the skin, and is not at all itchy or rough, like some lace tends to be.

Now, the color! Sooo cute- it is called "felt tip" purple, which conjures up all sorts of good memories of my favorite purple magic marker. This set is available in nearly a full size run, so stop by and check it out!

Designer Interview: Jessie and Arin of Zinke ♥

This week we were lucky enough to do a little interview with the designers of one of our favorite lines, Zinke. Jessie and Arin are the sisters behind the feminine and fun line which just launched in 2009. They have done such an amazing job at creating a beautiful and cohesive line (and growing so fast - hello cover of Lucky Magazine!!) in such a short period of time. Their color scheme this season was so lovely and the new Souvenir Collection is full of midnight blues, harvest golds, and crimson reds. Currently, what are you both inspired by the most as designers?
JZ: Currently the photography of Neil Krug has been inspiring me.
Arin: 70's

I read in an interview on Pretty Little Underthings that you were inspired by Edgar Allen's Love poems for your Love Letters collection. Describe your design process. What sort of places does your first initial inspiration usually come from?

Arin: Color plays a big part in the initial inspiration. It's quite an editing process with the two of us collaborating on the color foundations for a collection. After the colors are determined, we decide on a mood for the collection -- we've found inspiration for the mood from lots of different sources: music (i.e. Electric Girl Collection), travel (i.e. Collins Avenue Collection), and I think jessie's move to NYC somewhat inspired our Souvenir Collection. From there, Jessie steers the design. Watching her design is incredible. She's a true perfectionist.

I know you both have always dreamed of starting a line together. Was the idea always to design lingerie?

No -- but we love the way things fell into place.

At derriere de soie, we love to pair your pieces with our daytime clothes for an underwear to outerwear look. What piece in your current collection do you think translates best for outerwear styling?

From the spring collection, the babydoll is a great piece for this because it can easily be worn as a shirt. From the fall collection, the Chelsea romper is darling with a full skirt & the Tulsa bra lets are a layering staple.

How would you both describe your personal style?

Jessie: Eclectic and casual
Arin: feminine. I prefer skirts and dresses over pants.

Who is your ideal Zinke girl?

The Olsens are a great example of a zinke girl because they always express their individuality and creativity through their personal style.

No White before Memorial Day, No White after Labor Day: White Eyelet Perfection

It is now official; we can wear white! And we will continue to do so all summer long, or until Labor day (I guess that's the official cutoff date), but one thing the calender can't keep us from wearing are our white underthings;)

The Jenna Leigh set, pictured above, is from their "Tremblant" series, and the name rings true to the crisp white cotton used in this particular construction. The snow white caps of Mont Tremblant perfectly resemble this set, whether it be the soft cup front clasp bralette, shown here, or the sweet underwire balconette, also available at the store now! There are matching panties galore as well, so what are you waiting for? Stop by to get a live look at these beauties...

1. Who are your favorite lingerie designers
Stella McCartney does it exactly right!! I always drool when something new of hers comes into the store! I'm also loving the new Ari Dein items, so classic.

2. Tell us about your current obsession in the store.

Lem Lem scarves!!! I'm going to Morocco this summer and I want them ALL for my trip.

3. Any shopping advice for new derriere customers?

Be both practical and fun. When I first started working here I went for all the fancy things, and then realized I didn't have any solid basic bras! Now my nude Natori convertible plunge is a go to - so comfortable and easy.

4. Describe your style. What do you find yourself wearing over and over?

Feminine, classic, and occasionally trendy...lately I've been very into the 60s/70s Katharine Ross/Bridget Bardot look :)

5. What was the last thing you purchased?

Today I purchased the La Fée Verte Black silk chiffon dress, the mint colored top version of it, and the Lem Lem cardigan. Had to get some pretty things for my trip!!

6. Name three things you can't live without.

All the lovely women in my life (especially my mom, sisters, and best friends from boarding school), SLEEP, my canvas ballet slippers, Twizzlers, rosebud salve, black liquid liner, netflix, and my Nikon D90!!

7. Favorite love song and or love poem?

I have to pick only one!! Impossible!

A girl who is comfortable in her skin, and has that special something that helps women learn to love their bodies too!

we've been having a great summer so far at the store. summer means a lot of things for us. it means beautiful new shipments of lingerie, accessories and swimwear (most recently, new between the sheets, elle macphereson, calvin klein and warcoal!!), meeting new and wonderful people visiting charlottesville and shopping with us, feeling so inspired by the warm days, and going on some trips of our own.

recently sue has gone on a solitary trip to mexico - yes please. la has been to new orleans recently, i just yesterday returned from a two week adventure down the coast of south carolina, and our gal kathryn is spending her summer in MOROCCO! we will all be sharing some photos and tales from our trips soon ♥

i can't wait to get to the store for the first time in two weeks to photograph all of our new beauties for all of internet world to see! in the meantime, come check them out and try on some things yourself. can't wait to see you!

Growing up in a beach town it was difficult to ignore the sweet sound of ska music, which permeated the beach/surf scene back in the 90s.

The music of bands such as The Specials, Fishbone, Op. Ivy, and the like paved the way for the bands that my generation grew up listening to: Goldfinger, Sublime and of course No Doubt.

For me and my girlfriends the band No Doubt was not just an avenue for music, it was a style…

Many of my friends (who were blessed with lighter hair) often would emulate the cotton candy hair hues Gwen would often sport, only instead of manic panic they opted for magic markers, which I guess pissed our parents off slightly less!!

Though we are not endorsing pink hair, there is an aspect of Gwen’s style we are willing to take on.

From bindis to bikini tops, bandeaus, bustiers and even bralettes, which Gwen ALWAYS rocked as outerwear, this post is an homage to the original princess of pop punk, Derriere-style…

Okay, let’s face it- the black bra under a white top has gotten a bad wrap in the past few seasons. Stylists have called this

look a “fashion don’t,” but lately we’ve seen this look, and it doesn’t seem to be getting the negative praise that it has

gotten in seasons past. Ladies have lately been rocking this look, and we kind of like it here at Derriere, but how could we

not? We are lingerie lovers after all…

We are seeing everything from intricate lacey black bras paired with crisp white collared shirts to basic black bandeaus

under gauzy white linen blouses. In short, this look is making a new appearance, but this time it is more subdued and well

calculated.

I personally just paired an ivory-colored lace dress overlay, and ditched the slip for a comfy Liz bandeau in black and a

Bodas black half slip for a version of the “black under white” look. Who thought underwear as outerwear could be so

much fun?!

last week i mentioned Antoinette and i styling some of our favorite black and white pieces in the store with pieces from our personal wardrobes.

as promised, here are some results.

i've mentioned several times here on the blog how much i love a black bra under a white t-shirt look. now that summer is finally upon us, it is time to bring out the sexy white tanks and sheer lacy dresses. needed something to wear underneath? come see us, of course.

the Clo fortuna convertible soft bra (pictured bottom left) is your ideal black lace soft bra. i just purchased it myself last week and i have wanted to wear it every day since. i would be wearing it right this second except that i'm still in my silky bottom jammies. i've had it peaking out underneath an oversized men's t shirt from the gap (so comfy), a floral maxi, a plain white tank, and a white lace isda & co. dress.

another favorite is the hanro soft skin underwire bra (pictured in photo three in white) under the mimi holliday minuit teddy. these teddies are so soft and light, feeling like you are wearing nothing on a hot summer day. we say they are totally acceptable for daytime. totally perfect for daytime, in fact.

black undies under a sheer maxi has been big on the runway this season, and a fun look for a night out. another perfect pair is a black lace body suit tucked under shorts or your favorite skinnies from jean theory. and a statement vintage belt ... what else?

arlie from urban revisions just sent us some amazing new summer scarves. (see photo below) arlie is a local designer (out of richmond) and such a lovely person. we both found each other's work via the internet and have had a growing relationship since. i knew we had to have some of her things in the store. she uses a "shredding" method to achieve these beautiful textures. textile design and textured materials are two things very dear to my own heart. (did i mention these were hand dyed?) just last night i was reading her feedback on her etsy page and i fully agree with all of the amazing things said about her work.

so light and airy, these scarves are ideal for an evening trip to the beach or worn over a tiny tank and maxi on a warm summer day. be sure to come get them while you can.

• What inspires you most as an artist/designer?/what are you inspired by at the moment

Overall, I am most inspired by nature. Even though I've lived in a city the majority of my life, everything I am drawn to has an organic feel. As of the moment, I can't get enough of pastel colors.

• Describe your work space

I work from home and I'm lucky to be sharing a two bedroom apartment with a very supportive boyfriend. It's not very big but we make it work. Stephen likes to joke that the place is mine and he just rents our living room... the second bedroom is my official studio where I shred, sew, package orders, etc. The dining room has turned into the flame working space where I have a torch and kiln set up to make my glass jewelry and the kitchen... it converts into a photo studio when need be.

• What are you listening to these days?

I just discovered Lykke Li not too long ago. Her album has been playing on repeat these last few days.

• Describe your most perfect set of dream bra and undies ...

I'm all about comfort. Sexy boyshorts and good support with pretty details. I've been blessed with larger assets than most gals. It's always exciting to find bras in my size that don't look like they are made for women who have zero back support.

• How would you define your personal style?

Laid back, earthy - girly - boho. I can dress head to toe in browns and greens one day and wear a bright pink dress the next.

• Something you are always carrying with you in your purse/bag/wallet:

Burt's Bees pomegranate lip balm. It's the best.

• What are some of your plans for Urban Revisions in the next few years?

I have such a long list for growth and experimentation! There are so many business avenues I have yet to take and crafts I have yet to explore...

• Apart from Urban Revisions: What are some of the things your days consist of?

If I'm not working, you can find me hanging with friends at the river or traveling to a music festival. Work hard, play hard. Repeat!

• What does handmade mean to you?

Community and quality. Since I started selling my wares through Etsy, I have had the pleasure of meeting and learning so much from other creative people and my customers. I ship packages all over the world. It's a wonderful feeling knowing Urban Revisions is being worn on every continent. Made with love - just my own two hands!

Ooohh, let’s see… of course the lake and stars, their sexy yet sporty designs are perfect for a girl who has a tomboy past. The ethereal silky goodies by la fée verte are a must in my book, and my latest loves are the designs by the sisters behind zinke!

Don’t be afraid to try stuff on! That’s what our well designed fitting rooms are for:) We are able to do bra fittings on the spot, but the best way to find the right bra is to experiment with different styles for the perfect fit.

4. Describe your style. What do you find yourself wearing over and over?

At my core I am a punky surfer girl, so I enjoy really soft vintage band tees (usually I snag these from my boyfriend), and a well calculated bikini and beach cover up ensemble will always be an outfit to me<3, but my style has evolved. I adore chic vintage pieces paired with modern, well-constructed silhouettes. Jewelry for me is key. I cannot wait to see all the new pretty pieces from the Native Daughter collection!

5. What was the last thing you purchased?

I did a little hauling last week at the store, and got the sage silk top by la fée verte, the leopard stella soft bra, another olive silk and lace soft bra also by stella, the oh so sexy black demi bra by Liz, and the sumptuous high-waisted citadel garter briefs by the lake and stars***

She is fashion forward, polished, but isn’t afraid to be adventurous when it comes to lingerie. She is sexy yet sophisticated and always has something exciting on underneath her blouse!

above are looks from some of my favorite spring collections. have you been wondering how to incorporate your lovely derriere de soie lingerie into your day wear? a few solutions above. it's a look i personally love; so sexy yet can be done so subtly. as the days are getting warmer (or hot! - wow, that happened fast?) these looks are perfect for day to night - spring to summer. pair corset styles with sheer dresses below the knee. black is always my top pick. a sexy black bra with a romantic chiffon blouse, perfection. i also love charlotte ronson's look (always great styling) in the first photo, a colorful maxi with a high waisted panty underneath. the waist belt also transitions the look nicely for day. also 6th photo down, rag and bone's sheer oxford with a white triangle bra - the juxtaposition of feminine fabrics and colors with a bit of an androgynous tailored top feels strong and confident. styled off the runway, a bra that covers a bit more i guess would be more appropriate.

antoinette and i will be in the store today styling our favorite black bras with white t's and such ... we can't wait to show you the results!

i wanted to tell you a little bit about bantu today, a brand i personally love love love. these pieces are manufactured entirely in africa, with the idea that more local jobs will make for sustainable improvements and a better way of life for local workers. The patterns on the suits are taken from african wax cloth prints. a centuries old textile technique, which has strong social, economic, and cultural importance. the juxtaposition of color and shapes within the patterns reflect the weavers identity, character and beliefs.

happy friday, all! i hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. i wanted to leave you all with some black and white photos that have full ownership of adjectives like beautiful, lovely, sexy .. you know, the sort of things we are big fans of at derriere de soie. i wonder what sort of lingerie these girls are wearing, and to the panty-less .. can someone tell them to pay us a visit, please?

sure, but I love Wacoal for the basics

2. Current obsessions in store:

The silk 'Clara Whispering' bra and
panties set by Stella McCartney, the floral print is like a gorgeous
pop art watercolor painting.

3. Shopping advice for new derriere customers:

Take your time, ask questions, don't be shy, we
have something for everyone in every price range!

4. Describe your personal style. What do you find yourself wearing over and over:

I love the romantic and bohemian 60s, but who can
forget the disco 70s, or the dancewear and neons of the 80s!
I love my Elle Machpherson panty trio and Timpa bras, I wear them so
much that it's hard to keep them laundered!

5. What was the last thing you purchased:

The last thing I (my boyfriend) purchased was a leopard print set
'Marguerite Riding' by Stella McCartney. I adore the high-waisted
panty, it makes me want to put on high heels, big hair, and a smoky
eye a la Brigitte Bardot, or Raquel Welch.

6. Name three things you can't live without:

Chan Luu horn earrings,
turquoise and brass bracelet

7. Favorite love song or poem:

8. Who do you think is the ideal Derriere girl:

Sensual and comfortable with her own, and
other people's, sexuality. A tendency to wear underwear as outerwear
is a plus!

while i was on the subject of the lake and stars, i wanted to share some images from basically one of the most perfect lookbooks i've ever laid my eyes on. (and trust me, this girl has looked at a lot of lookbooks.) here is another one of my favorite pieces in the store, the hammered silk nanny chemise. (seen on the lovely lady second to left in the top photo) the colors are so perfect together, and are the exact tones i've been attracted to this season. the cut is so beautiful, hitting the curves in all the right places. and that classic vintage inspired signature back clasp ... just lovely. you must come try it on for yourself.

i think i'd like to wear this with simple flats out to a dinner on a summery terrace under strings of latterns, to the beach with a floppy vintage hat and mimosa in hand .. oh, and in the bedroom since it is "lingerie" and all. XO

Tricky one… love them all or else I wouldn’t work here! Definitely love the classic yet funky style of Mimi Holliday, the comfortable & sexy CLO Intimo soft bras, and you can never go wrong with Stella McCartney!

2. Tell us about your current obsession in the store ...

Only one?!.. Well The Lake & Stars Citadel Garter Brief and Bralette is probably my favorite at the moment…… Fave designer would be ALL of the Native Daughter feather accessories, the headpieces are beyond bad ass..

3. Any shopping advice for new derriere customers?

Stick with the styles that you know work best for your body type. It took me forever to figure this one out, because I just wish EVERYTHING would fit perfectly..!

4. Describe your style. What do you find yourself wearing over and over?

Funky, colorful, bohemian-hippie with some girly & vintage-y vibes thrown in! I always love a comfy soft bra, but if I’m feeling fancy I’ll throw on a nice lacy bra to peek out from whatever top I’m wearing!

5. What was the last thing you purchased?

A pile of SALE panties!

6. Name three things you can't live without.

My man, my dog, & candy.

Hi, all :) As you've probably noticed, all of us gals at Derriere de Soie are pretty big fans of .. well, the earth. We love the bright sunshine, green grass under our barefoot toes, fresh blue ridge air, recycling and reusing ... you get the point. Lately the warm weather and new spring deliveries have left us feeling all giddy. So to celebrate the spring and all the beauty mother nature still has to offer us, we'll be offering discounts all week in honor of earth day - which is officially on Friday, April 22nd.
